Balesville Cemetery

Jan Raub wrote to the Special Collections Library at Rutgers University and obtained a copy of an older cemetery transcription for the Balesville Cemetery. The transcript was in rough form, handwritten by at least three different people, with many abbreviations and difficult-to-read handwriting. The only heading on most of the pages is “Balesville,” with no notation of who created the transcriptions or the cemetery’s location.

Some of the pages are dated June 3, 1923, and all are written on the same type of paper with alphabetized tabs. This suggests the transcriptions were all done at approximately the same time.

This cemetery sits behind the Congregational Christian Church in Balesville.
