This alphabetical list of gravestones was copied by the General William Maxwell Chapter No. 71, D.A.R., Belvedere, NJ, in June 1935. Some notes by Esther Read Doyle are included in parenthesis. Any names with asterisks (*) were amended by Bob Lanterman in 2000. Finally, corrections were submitted by Harry Smith in 2003.

This cemetery was also known by the name of Old Market Street Cemetery. Located at the original Wesley Chapel site on Delaware and Market Streets in Belvidere, this burying ground’s inscriptions were copied in February 1978 by Virginia Alleman Brown. Brown’s work, compared with Roseberry’s “Warren County Cemetery Inscriptions,” includes bracketed inscriptions from stones present in 1934 but missing in 1978.

This is a cemetery transcription for the “New” Belvidere Cemetery on Pequest Road in Belvidere, Oxford Township. This transcription was created by Beulah Gangaware in 1934 when she inventoried the visible gravestones. This listing contains some names different than the current listing at FindAGrave, likely because the headstones are now missing. Incorporated with this listing were some additions from the actual cemetery records.

First Presbyterian Church Graveyard, Caldwell, New Jersey

The First Presbyterian Church, located at the intersection of Bloomfield, Westville, and Roseland Avenues, is a historical landmark with a noteworthy steeple visible from Bloomfield Ave. The adjacent burial ground, dating from 1788 to 1881, contains the graves of several Revolutionary War veterans. Despite being well-maintained, many monuments have weathered significantly, erasing numerous inscriptions. The documented graves include those of individuals such as Calvin Backus, several of the Baldwin family, and numerous others.

Allentown Methodist Cemetery is owned by Allentown United Methodist Church on Church St. in Allentown. Location Broad St.Allentown, NJ 08501 Cemetery History Allentown United Methodist Church was officially established in 1810, though Methodist sermons were being performed in Allentown as early as 1790. The present-day location at 23 Church St. began in 1832. However, the present-day building was erected in 1859. Originally burials were performed on church grounds, surrounding the church building.
