This cemetery has gone by several names over the years. It’s known as Blair Academy Cemetery, J. I. Blair Cemetery, Blairstown Cemetery and Gravel Hill Cemetery. Blairstown itself was known as Smith’s Mill in 1760, Butts’ Bridge in 1795, Gravel Hill in 1825, and finally Blairstown in 1839. It is located on the grounds of Blair Academy, on the hill.
