New Jersey Genealogy

This website contains information and records for New Jersey ancestry, family history, and genealogy. Specifically, we provide sources for birth records, death records, marriage records, census records, tax records, court records, and military records. We also provide historical details about different times and people in New Jersey history.

At the turn of the 20th century Cornelius Burnham Harvey edited a large volume titled the Genealogical History of Hudson and Bergen Counties, New Jersey. This manuscript tried to present an anthology for the two counties whose early records were strewn all across New York and New Jersey. For purpose of New Jersey genealogy, I have transcribed the genealogy section of the manuscript separating the biographies from the genealogies and separating the families of Bergen and Hudson County, so as to make a more specific and searchable work, especially useful since the book was not indexed.
